Updates and Activities of the NCREDC
Student entrepreneurs from all across the North Country will be pitching their business plans to a distinguished panel of judges this Saturday, March 29th, at the North Country Regional Business Plan Competition! We enthusiastically invite you to attend all or part of the event to hear about some great business ideas and to support our students! The competition will take place for the first time at SUNY Plattsburgh in the new School of Business & Economics building–Ausable Hall–on the main floor. SUNY Plattsburgh and Clarkson University are partners in this endeavor. We expect more than 100 people to attend! Members of the news media are warmly welcome to join us! This event is open to the general public.
Here is the schedule for Saturday March 29th:
8:45 am – Registration and Continental Breakfast – Ausable Hall Lobby Atrium & Room 114
9:00 am – Judges’ Orientation (Ausable Hall Room 320)
9:30 am – Official Welcome by SUNY Plattsburgh President-Dr. John Ettling and Dean of the School of Business & Economics-Dr. Ray Guydosh, and Orientation for Participants by Co-organizers Dr. Nancy Church (SUNY Plattsburgh) and Ms. Erin Draper (Clarkson University) – Ausable Hall Lobby Atrium & Room 114
10:00 am – 12 Noon – Business Plan Presentations – Three Tracks Running Concurrently – Ausable Hall Rooms 114, 116, 123
12:00 – 1:00 pm – Complimentary Boxed Lunch for participants – Ausable Hall Lobby Atrium & Room 114
12:30 pm – Keynote Speaker Congressman Bill Owens (representing New York’s 21st Congressional District in Washington) who will speak on “The Importance of Entrepreneurship in the U.S.” – Ausable Hall Lobby Atrium & Room 114
1:00 – 5 pm – Business Plan Presentations Continue – Three Tracks Running Concurrently – Ausable Hall Rooms 114, 116, 123
5:30 pm – Awards Ceremony – Ausable Hall Room 123
Approximately 40 teams from 6 North Country colleges will be presenting their business plans in 5 different categories. Prizes in each category are: $2000-1st place, $1000-2nd place, and $500-3rd place. The first and second place finishers in each category will advance to the New York Business Plan Competition in Albany on April 25th!
