The North Country Chamber of Commerce is hosting a special venture capital forum with New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli on Wednesday, May 7th. The program will feature investment managers affiliated with the New York State Common Retirement Fund’s In-State Private Equity Program, as well as a representative of Armory Square Ventures, a newly established early stage capital fund focused on northern and central NY, several other key investment specialists, and Clarkson University as home of the new North Country Innovation Hot Spot. Presenters will include Kevin Halpin of DeltaPoint Capital, Tom Rest of Grosvenor Capital Management, Somak Chattopadhyay of Armory Square Ventures, Pat Mackrell who is President/CEO of the New York Business Development Corp., Frank McEvoy who is Manager of the In-State Equity Fund Portfolio, and Matthew Draper of Clarkson.

The forum is being co-sponsored by Global North Country, an initiative of the North Country Regional Economic Development Council, and the North Country Alliance. The workshop is fully open to our friends and partners in Quebec with an interest in learning more about investment sources for possible ventures in New York. Suggested attendees would include entrepreneurs, bankers, economic developers, accountants, attorneys, and anyone needing to know more about venture capital and investment financing in the North Country region of New York.

Space is limited and advance registration is required. Registration for the Venture North Investment Forum, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., is $40 (U.S.) per person.
